JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship 2024

Founded in 1892 by Jamshedji Nusarwanji Tata, the promoter of the Tata Group. JN Tata Endowment offers merit based loan scholarships to students across India for higher studies abroad. Every year, 90 to 100 scholars are selected in disciplines ranging from sciences (applied, pure and social) to management, law and commerce and fine arts.

JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship Eligibility

  • Candidates should be Indian, not more than 45 years of age as on June 30, 2024 and graduates of a recognized Indian University with an average of at least 60% in their undergraduate or postgraduate studies. Candidates should not have their undergraduate degree from a recognized university in India. Not eligible to apply.
  • The course to which candidates are admitted must be recognized as a graduate program (post-graduate in Indian parlance).
  • Candidates not selected for loan scholarship in the previous year/earlier and candidates who could not avail loan scholarship when selected are eligible to apply afresh.
  • Candidates who are already pursuing postgraduate studies abroad may apply at the end of their first year of study or at the beginning of their second year, provided that there is at least one full academic year (12 months) left to complete. At the time of loan scholarship award, usually in July of any calendar year.
  • Candidates in final year of their degree courses and awaiting results are eligible to apply. Candidates can apply even if they do not have admission/offer letters while filling the application form from the universities to which they have applied for the academic year 2024-2025. However, they must update their application status with Endowment once they have secured admission by sending an appropriate email to jnte@tatatruts.org, quoting the reference number appearing on the top left of the form.
  • JN Tata Scholars who have fully repaid their existing loan scholarship amount are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates going abroad for seminars, conferences, trainings, workshops, paper presentations, undergraduate studies and any postgraduate degrees/diplomas/certificates through distance learning or online medium. Not eligible to apply.
  • Candidates planning to pursue postgraduate and undergraduate studies in India are not eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who are planning to study for a diploma of at least one year duration, whose entry level requirement is higher secondary level, are not eligible to apply.

JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship Benefits:

  • Loans up to INR 10 lakhs

Phase 1 – Last date for submission of application

  • Candidate’s photograph (500*500 pixels in jpeg format)
  • aadhar card
  • Passport (first and last page)
  • Marksheet/transcript/s for each academic qualification
  • Statement of Purpose (SoP)
  • Work experience certificate from previous employer (applicable for working professionals)
  • Appointment letter from present employer (applicable for working professionals)
  • Latest filed ITR/3 months salary slip (applicable for working professionals)

Phase 3 – Interview with subject matter expert

  • University admission letter
  • A Letter of Recommendation (LOR) addressed specifically to the “Trustees of JN Tata Endowment”, either from a college or university professor or from an employer, if the candidate is/are working
  • Final Year Marksheet / Degree Certificate
  • Scorecards (GRE/GMAT/TOEFL/IELTS/PTE)
  • Certificate of Scholarship/Ranking/Awards (if any)
  • Certificates relating to co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements
  • Research Work/Project Work (One Only)

Phase 4 – Final Selection

  • Candidate’s PAN Card
  • Candidate’s canceled check / latest bank statement
  • PAN card and Aadhaar card of the guarantor
  • Passport size photograph of guarantor (500*500 pixels in jpeg format)
  • Income proof of guarantor / latest filed ITR

  • Applications for loan scholarships on our website at www.jntataendowment.org
  • Candidates have to create login id and password to be able to apply.
  • Please note the following:
  • You can create only one login id using your email id.
  • This is not a downloadable form. So, you can directly fill the online application form in one visit or in more than one visit but you should remember to save the draft before exiting each time.
  • You are required to validate the application form before final submission after which candidates cannot make any changes.
